Michael Wilcox

Michael Wilcox enjoyed a lengthy career in the photographic industry beginning as a manager of a retail camera store. His last position before retirement was associate director and division manager for Pentax USA.

In 2008 he took up fine art photography. Michael’s photographic efforts are all about the distillation of visual elements. His goal is to keep his photographs simple but nuanced. Subject matter might be anything but composition must be simple and direct. His goal is to have all elements in a photograph contribute to the visual message.

Michael’s photographs have been published in national publications including USA Today and have won multiple national awards from the Photographic Society of America. He is recognized as a Master photographer by the Loveland Photographic Society where he has served as competition and mentor chair. He has also served as  president of the Thompson Valley Art League.

He was awarded First Place, photography at the Thompson Valley Art League’s Regional Fine Art Show and the First Place, Photography at the 2015 Cheyenne Railroad Museum Annual Rail Art Show. He was one of only two photographers accepted into the 2015 Colorado Governor’s Art Show and sold several prints during the show. He has served as a judge and has work displayed at the Boardwalk Gallery in Windsor.

Michael’s work is available at the Lincoln Gallery in Loveland, CO and he will be offering his work for the third year at the 2016 Art in the Park Festival, August 13 and 14th in Loveland. He will also be selling his work at the Greeley Arts Picnic and the Estes Park Arts and Craft Show.
