Michael Wilcox enjoyed a lengthy career in the photographic industry beginning as a manager of a retail camera store. His last position before retirement was associate director and division manager for Pentax USA.
In 2008 he took up fine art photography. Michael’s photographic efforts are all about the distillation of visual elements. His goal is to keep his photographs simple but nuanced. Subject matter might be anything but composition must be simple and direct. His goal is to have all elements in a photograph contribute to the visual message.
Michael’s photographs have been published in national publications including USA Today and have won multiple national awards from the Photographic Society of America. He is recognized as a Master photographer by the Loveland Photographic Society where he has served as competition and mentor chair. He has also served as president of the Thompson Valley Art League.
