Growing up in rural Wisconsin, Karen Storm developed a love of art and nature. Her love of art led her to study art education. Her love of nature led her to the mountains and a career teaching art in Colorado. Now embracing her passion for painting full-time, her work ranges from wildlife and landscapes to figurative paintings in oils. Imagery for her work rises from her travels and her daily life, often capturing intimate moments in nature. She frequently paints “plein air” to immerse herself in the shapes, colors and light of the landscape.
A graduate of University of Wisconsin, Madison, Karen creates, exhibits and teaches in the Pikes Peak region. Her work is seen at Gallery 113, in juried exhibits, and in private and corporate collections. She maintains a studio at Second Floor Studios, 2418 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, CO.
