Kit Hevron Mahoney

Kit is an award-winning artist with over 30 years of experience who has developed her own unique contemporary, representational and abstract painting styles using a palette knife and brushes. She is a self-taught artist whose painting technique and style evolved by studying a variety of artists spanning the globe; from the Impressionists to the Abstract Expressionists, all who inspire new ideas and ways of approaching painting.

Her background includes business, fine art, illustration and graphic design. For the past 15 years she has been an owner/artist at Brushstrokes Studio-Gallery in Denver where she still creates and shows her work.
Kit graduated from the University of Colorado and the Colorado Institute of Art where she also taught graphic design and drawing for over 15 years. Kit has been showing nationwide in solo and group exhibitions and her work has been included in the Colorado Governor’s Invitational, the Gilcrease Musuem’s American Art in Miniature Invitational, Oil Painters of America and has won awards in the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. Her work is in both private and corporate collections including the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and McGraw Hill Publishers in Dayton, Ohio and the private collection of actor Jack Nicholson.
