Mark Lundeen is a highly realistic sculptor with a fine sense of detail, fluid lines, balance and integrity. A native of Holdrege, Nebraska, Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Nebraska in Kearney. After graduating, Mark spent eight months in Europe studying the old masters. Mark has an established studio and has been a successful sculptor since 1981.
Mark can capture one moment in time and translate that moment into eternity. He stages his artwork around the stories or emotions the characters portray, allowing each viewer to find a different version. His work has a strong physical presence, whether it is an aggressive athlete, a pensive elder or a shy child.
He has received numerous awards and honors and has several featured magazine articles. The most notable of Mark’s work is the sculpture of Jack Swigert, of Apollo 13 fame, placed in the National Statuary Hall of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.
