Thane Gorek

Thane Gorek is an artist working in Northern Colorado. He studied Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1995.
Shortly after moving to Colorado, Gorek abandoned Illustration in favor of the Fine Arts, subsequently honing his skills and refining his visual vocabulary. In recent years his main focus has been on hyperrealist still life painting. By significantly enlarging the size of everyday objects, he transforms the ordinary into the sublime.
Thane Gorek lives in Loveland, Colorado with his wife and two kids where he teaches classical drawing and painting at the Schissler Academy of Fine Arts. His meticulously rendered oil paintings can be found in numerous private collections both in the United States and abroad.
