Growing up on a farm in Eastern Iowa, I have always been surrounded by trees and wood. Earning a B.A. from University of Northern Iowa, and an M.S. from Colorado State in Industrial Technology Education, led to over 30 years of teaching woodworking to students of all ages. I have given woodturning workshops throughout the Western U.S., and have demonstrated at several woodturning symposiums, and still teach woodturning classes on a regular basis.
My focus on artistic woodturning began in the early 1990’s, after being challenged and inspired by some woodturning legends, who are now my close friends. My current work reflects the times that I lived in, and traveled to New Mexico, and spent a lot of time exploring both ancient and contemporary Pueblo cultures and crafts.
Through woodturning I have met some incredible people, and have shared in some very memorable experiences.
