Margueritte Meier refers to her paintings as contemplative works. Her current passion is weaving observations, skill and memories from Nature with watercolor. Her unique luminous watercolors blend contemporary realism with ethereal and burnished glazes to evoke the transcendental worlds supporting the tangible forms.
Meier was born in Kansas City, MO. She has lived on both coasts, in the heartland and “the west”. Presently her home is in Fort Collins, CO.
Her art education includes a 2.5 year mentorship with Navajo sandpainter, David Chetlathe Paladin, and a BA in Fine Art and Psychology from Antioch University.
Margueritte’s paintings have been exhibited consistently in juried, solo and invitational shows in galleries and museums such as Contemporary Center for the Arts, Santa Fe, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Fort Collins. She has been awarded artist in residencies at the Visionary Artists Residency, Bali, and the Wyoming Brush Creek Ranch.
