Jim is a classically trained contemporary realist whose work hangs in private collections nationally and internationally. He’s been juried into numerous regional, national, and international art shows around the country, and taught figurative painting at the Classical Art Academy in Boulder, Colorado.
Jim’s work is predominantly figurative as he’s particularly inspired by the grace, gesture, and beauty of the human form. Through the figure he strives to capture, interpret, and express the contemporary human experience in a way that is timeless, yet wholly relevant to our time. His goal is to incorporate the figure into compelling visual compositions that capture the eye and engage the mind.
Jim has been a life long artist, but concurrently served 26 years as a fighter pilot in the Air Force. He lives with his wife, Lea (also an artist), and their two dogs in Coal Creek Canyon, Colorado, and has three grown children.
