Tammie Lane is an artist that has lived in Aspen, Colorado for 39 years. She attended OSU in Oklahoma, studied abroad in Sweden, then graduated with a BFA in Commercial Art from Phillips University in 1980. She has made her living painting, drawing, and doing pottery for 40 years.
Starting her career as an illustrator, Lane worked for Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City, MO. Corporate life did not suit her, so she moved to Aspen and opened an illustration and design studio working freelance for many national clients. She produced work for a wide variety of clients including children’s books, magazines, posters, ski events, stock illustration, and about everything imaginable. In 2008, Lane decided to pursue fine art full time. Currently, Lane has her studio in the Redbrick Center for the Arts in Aspen, Colorado. Her work has been exhibited in numerous national juried shows, galleries and plein air events throughout the United States.
