“I have lived most of my life in Colorado. Although not born or raised here, it is my true home. It was the incredible landscape that first drew me to the West, and I have spent most of my life painting it.

“The landscape, although continually changing, is a constant in our existence. It is the stage on which we act out our lives. We come and go, but the land will always be here. There is amazing power in that. It puts our lives in perspective. It heals and renews us. Its awesome beauty enraptures us.

“It is an inspiring challenge to express this in my work.”

Michael was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Tipp City, Ohio. He was formally educated at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Michael moved to Colorado in 1977.  He lives, works, and enjoys life in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
